After over twenty years, our beloved playground needs to be replaced. Daryl Aresco and the Borough staff have done a remarkable job of maintaining our structures over the years; however, we are no longer able to find the necessary seasonal replacement parts. Construction on the new playground needs to be begin early spring 2020 to be ready for this coming summer.
Margaret Wade and Robyn Gengras, in their roles as members of the Parks Committee, along with the help of Nancy Haviland, researched and presented to the Burgesses several new playground options. Below you will find renderings of the approved plan. We are very excited about the playscape which incorporates some new features while maintaining the scope and feel of the current space.
We know that like us, many of you, your children and your grandchildren have spent countless happy hours at the playground, and it is truly the capstone experience of Fenwick. As we know free play allows our children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, physical, cognitive and emotional strength. How blessed we are to have our own community playground!
The final cost of the playground fully installed is approximately $100,000. We hope ALL will consider joining with us to fund this very special project. Gifts towards the playground can be made through the Fenwick Improvement Fund (FIF), c/o Rick Neely, 23 Russell Street, Milton, MA 02186. If we were official fundraisers our chart of gifts might look something like the one below!
Please do not hesitate to contact Margaret, Robyn or Nancy with any questions. We hope that with your support we can pull this off!
